BPMN Books

  • BPMN Method & Style by Bruce Silver.
    • Editors' Rating:
    • PRO: A well-written introduction to the proposed BPMN 2.0 specification that describes a practical approach for applying business process modeling techniques.
    • CON: Style guidelines and examples are mediocre.
  • BPMN Modeling and Reference Guide by Stephen White, et al.
    • Editors' Rating:
    • PRO: A solid primer and reference for BPMN by one of the BPMN specification leaders.
    • CON: Pragmatic examples are weak. Doesn't address complexity and scalability issues associated with modeling enterprise business process workflows.
  • BPMN, the Business Process Modeling Notation Pocket Handbook by Patrice Briol.
    • Editors' Rating:
    • PRO: A quick reference guide.
    • CON: Insufficient to learn BPMN modeling since it lacks substantive explanations and examples.
